FIELD: biotechnology, microbiology, ecology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protection of the environment and relates to the biological treatment of industrial discharges and pulps from free cyanides and thiocyanates and their complexes with heavy metals also. Using the consortium of new strains of microorganisms Pseudomonas stutzeri 18 and Pseudomonas putida 21 provides reducing the content of cyanides from 5-30 mg/l and thiocyanates from 0.1-4 g/l in solutions and pulps to the maximum allowable concentration for 24 h that solves the problem for detoxification of cyanide-and thiocyanate-containing discharges in golden-mining and some other fields of industry.
