FIELD: gas processing industry; use of gas as motor fuel. SUBSTANCE: proposed method of compression of gas includes delivery of gas to compressing reservoirs (n>1) in turn, compression of gas in one compressing reservoir by delivery of working fluid to lower part which is pumped out of other compressing reservoir, cooling of gas, dehumidification of gas, delivery of compressed gas from compressing reservoir to accumulating reservoir and then to consumer. Used as working fluid is fluid possessing absorbing properties which is cooled after delivery of it to compressing reservoirs. Dehumidification and cooling of gas are performed in compressing reservoir by delivery of part of working fluid through (m>1) plates of sprinklers which are located vertically in compressing reservoir at spaced relation. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of cooling and dehumidifying gas in the course of compression. 1 dwg
