FIELD: cryogenic cooling of specimen by open flow of evaporated refrigerant. SUBSTANCE: device has cryostat, nozzle, Dewar flask, and system for separate delivery of liquid and gaseous refrigerants from Dewar flask to cryostat. Nozzle emerges from cryostat and organizes coaxially disposed cold (inner) and hot (outer) gas flows. Delivery system is provided with electric heater for evaporating liquid refrigerant accommodated in Dewar flask, gaseous refrigerant sensor, and valve that functions to control gaseous refrigerant delivery to cryostat and is connected to temperature control unit. EFFECT: simplified design, reduced cost and minimal attainable cooling temperature of specimen. 1 cl, 1 dwg
