FIELD: testing equipment, determination of characteristics of mechanical properties of sheet materials under conditions of plane deformation. SUBSTANCE: process of tensile testing of sheet materials consists in loading of specimen of rectangular shape with punch force perpendicular to plane of specimen. Elastic insert showing length equal to 0.8 width of working part of specimen and width half as large as its length is placed in central zone of specimen prior to loading. Thereafter specimen is loaded to destruction with elastic punch in rigid skit matrix. Then thickness of working part of specimen near formed crack is measured and on this basis value of ultimate ductility of material of specimen is computed. EFFECT: increased accuracy of tests due to exclusion of deformation along width of working part of specimen. 2 dwg
