FIELD: agriculture, in particular, veterinary science. SUBSTANCE: polyvinyl chloride tube used as catheter retainer is provided with longitudinal slots arranged in its mid portion and allowing catheter to be tightly fixed in teat channel for any time interval without irritating tissue owing to indifference of material to organism's tissues and also due to tube elasticity. Catheter is readily withdrawn from teat channel by removal of lock nut. Apparatus of such construction is used for treating of teats pathology, as well as for curing of mastitis and infectious diseases followed by udder injury. EFFECT: increased retaining capacity of apparatus resulting in reduced labor intensity, increased treatment effectiveness and reduced costs. 9 dwg, 3 tbl
