FIELD: recovery of spent nuclear fuel. SUBSTANCE: method includes melting of spent nuclear fuel in molten salt contained in crucible. The latter is inductively heated, coolant is supplied thereto for cooling down the crucible, and nuclear fuel is settled down. In the process molten salt layer is maintained at equilibrium state between heating and cooling, and solidified salt layer is formed on inner surface of crucible wall. Induction heating system to be used for pyrochemical recovery of spent nuclear fuel has induction heating means and cooling means for supplying coolant to crucible. EFFECT: enhanced corrosion resistance of crucible and safety of pyrochemical treatment. 7 cl, 8 dwg
