FIELD: plastic metal working, possibly in machine engineering for making parts from bent shapes. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of gradually separating members of cross section of shape by means of movable and stationary cutters; performing separation while using: mechanism for separating bent shapes with stationary cutter mounted on said mechanism, slide of press and rocker arm supporting movable cutter; taking gaps between shape and movable cutter at side opposite relative to motion direction of movable cutter; providing constant-effort action of press slide upon rocker arm; moving cutters together with mechanism for separating bent shapes. EFFECT: enhanced quality of shapes due to prevention of edge crumpling, barb and chipping occurring. 2 cl, 7 dwg
