FIELD: construction engineering; erection and operation of main pipe lines in flooded and marshy regions; reduction of positive buoyancy of extended cylindrical bodies. SUBSTANCE: proposed weighting material includes pair of flat panels located symmetrically relative to pipe line and partitions-aprons transversal relative to pipe line. Connected to each panel below its center of gravity and laid at the top on pipe line are upper and lower soft strakes- load-bearing members which are articulated by means of insertion members. Each panel is provided with bearing cover plate made from synthetic non-woven material and located on flat surface directed towards pipe line and engageable with it below its horizontal axial plane. Lower strakes are located in X-shaped pattern relative to longitudinal axis of pipe line at rated angle between them; they are secured in their middle portion with cover plate laid on pipe line. Plates are provided with holes where ends of connecting combined band are located forming articulation joint with insertion members. Pipe line is also covered with rug made from synthetic non-woven material for protection of soft strakes. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of pipe line. 6 cl, 2 dwg
