FIELD: transport engineering; articulated crawler vehicle. SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method, pressure of tracks of both sections from side of coupling unit onto ground is increased and pressure from side of free ends of both sections is decreased. Then free ends of sections are turned relative to coupling unit in direction of preset movement. Pressure of tracks onto ground from side of free ends of sections is increased and pressure from side of coupling unit is decreased, and ends of sections connected with coupling unit are turned relative to their free ends in direction of preset movement. Further on, following the prescribed sequence alternate displacement of free ends of crawler articulated vehicle and connected with coupling unit is performed until crawler articulated vehicle occupies preset position. Then position of sections relative to each other is corrected and changing of pressure onto ground from side of articulated crawler vehicle is stopped. EFFECT: improved steerability of articulated crawler vehicle.
