METHOD FOR SURGICAL SANITATION OF PURULENT FOCI IN CASE OF ACUTE DESTRUCTIVE PANCREATITIS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, surgery. SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with surgical ways of treatment while performing repeated operative interferences as a result of nonradical primary operation or progressing purulent process in case of destructive pancreatitis complicated with vast purulent-necrotic parapancreatitis. Access is achieved by applying thoracotomy from the left side by leaving abdominal cavity beyond pathological alterations, into IX or X intercostals space at output through diaphragmatic cupola into superior floor of abdominal cavity towards purulent parapancreatic foci and other objects preset by operative plan. Access into retroperitoneal space could be performed by applying transpleural or extrapleural ways of approach that enables to carry out simple access to lesion foci at complete exposure of omentum and affected retroperitoneal fiber to conduct radical necrsequestrectomy by keeping the fusions developed limiting purulent-necrotic focus against free abdominal cavity.
