FIELD: ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a method of extraction of molybdenum (VI) from water solutions, that is dealt with the fields of extraction of substances with utilization of sorbents and may be used in the ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy and also for purification of industrial and household waste waters. The technical result is definition of optimum conditions for a fast and efficient extraction of ions of molybdenum (VI) from water solutions. It is achieved by execution of sorption using anionite of AMP mark containing the exchange groups: -CН2 - . At that the sorption is conducted at pH > 4 and the time period of no more than one hour with preliminary sour, alkaline or water treatment of anionite. In the case of рН = 1- 4 and the time of sorption exceeding 24 hours the process is conducted at preliminary water or acid treatment of the anionite.
