FIELD: shipbuilding; ice breaking ships. SUBSTANCE: proposed method is performed by means of hydraulic jets directed to ice from fore section of ice braking ship. Used as source for hydraulic jets is electro-hydro-reactive engine . Water scoop for supply of water to electro-hydro-reactive engine is located in lower fore portion of ship. At approach to edge of ice cover, fore portion of ship is slightly loaded. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of ice breaking and passability of ice breaking ship. 3 dwg
