FIELD: ship building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of ship building, in particular to methods of ice-cover destruction by vessels. Method is as follows. Creating a buoyant Archimedian force by impact of the vessel on the lower surface of the ice cover, for which, by changing the buoyancy of the vessel, bringing it by the bow under the ice cover, leaving the aft part above the surface of the water, and then, increasing the buoyancy of the vessel, creating a pushing force with the entire positive buoyancy of the vessel, increasing the impact on the lower surface of the ice cover by the hardened ice-breaking upper part of the hull, after which the ice destruction cycle is repeated, wherein, before the creation of the buoyancy force, performing the ice cover weakening by formation of the cuts in it by impact of one or two hydro-jets in the direction of the vessel's movement, wherein the hydro-jet output means are located on the stern of the vessel, which remains on the surface.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency of ice breaking.
