FIELD: mechanical engineering; engines. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and device for conversion of standard four-stroke engines into effective two-stroke engines and it can be used directly on stage of production of affective two-stroke engines. According to proposed method, four-stroke engine to be converted is provided with delivery piston pumps with at least one pumping chamber. One pumping chamber is provided for group of at least two engine cylinders. Volume of pumping chamber displaced by pump piston at one stroke exceeds working volume of each engine cylinder. Pump is secured on mounting member of engine close to cylinders. Crank pins for each group of cylinders are arranged at angular pitch equal to quotient of 360o and number of cylinders in group. Method provides also for mounting step-up transmission to drive pump from engine at step-up degree equal to ratio of engine cylinder number in each group of cylinders to one pumping chamber. Work of engine and pump is synchronized to provide movement of pump piston with advance in phase of pistons of engine cylinders supplied by pump at movement of pistons alternately to top dead center and to provide opening of intake valve of each cylinder of engine before bottom dead center and its closing before top dead center and opening of discharge valve of engine cylinder before bottom dead center and closing before top dead center. EFFECT: provision of effective two-stroke engines.
