FIELD: mechanical engineering; electric cars. SUBSTANCE: proposed electro-inertia device contains drive electric motor, transmission and flywheel whose housing is made in form of pipe with cutout. Flywheel is installed concentrically inside housing, and its shaft is fitted in bearing supports installed in end faces of pipe. Shaft has two ends projecting from support. Pulley is mounted on one end of shaft and gear wheel of clutch is installed on other end for driving by starter gear. Drive electric motor is arranged in housing cutout. Axis of its shaft is parallel to axis of flywheel shaft, and motor shaft proper projects beyond the limits of housing and it is furnished with pulley. Pulleys of flywheel and electric motor shafts are interconnected by V-belt drive. EFFECT: reduced power consumption of electric car. 1 dwg
