SUPERCONDUCTOR JUMPER-SWITCH WITH MAGNETICALLY CONTROLLED INDUCTIVE SUPERC ONDUCTOR ENERGY STORAGE Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2230398 C1

FIELD: power-energy pulse engineering. SUBSTANCE: superconductor jumper-switch built of high-temperature superconductors and magnetically controlled inductive superconductor energy storage mainly of toroidal shape which is designed to feed pulse loads such as inductive ones through intermediate multiple-stage capacitive oscillator has main winding built around high-temperature superconductor film bands enclosed by low-temperature electric insulation, wound in bifilar manner on tubular former, and provided with ducts for passing coolant from cryorefrigerator communicating via heat-insulated pipelines carrying enhanced-inlet-temperature coolant with internal part of inlet and outlet coolant manifolds. It also has external winding coaxial with main one which is wound of stranded wire with high-temperature superconductor film onto heat-insulated tubular former and provided with ducts for passing coolant from cryorefrigerator communicating via heat-insulated pipelines carrying reduced-outlet-temperature coolant with external part of inlet and outlet coolant manifolds. Main and control windings are placed in cryostat. Main winding leads are connected to winding leads of inductive superconductor energy storage and to outputs of its charger in the form of mainly constant charging power converter. In addition superconductor jumper-switch has power supply for control winding incorporating storage capacitor with switches controlling its two unlike-polarity push-pull converters of practically constant output current, as well as control unit. EFFECT: reduced mass and cost of jumper-switch and associated equipment; reduced power requirement. 2 cl, 10 dwg
