FIELD: electric power industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric power engineering, namely to electromechanical devices with windings operating at cryogenic temperatures and is intended for use in the process of making windings of electrical machines, magnets, solenoids, transformers, and so forth using high-temperature superconductors. Superconducting helicoidal winding contains a helicoidal metal substrate with flat turns with possibility of its expansion and contraction along the longitudinal axis. Flat turns of the substrate have an arbitrary shape, wherein on both planes of each turn of the substrate there are layers similar to structural layers of a high-temperature superconducting tape of the second generation. Insulation is arranged between turns. Winding has a flat shape or is bent about an axis parallel to its plane, to impart a saddle shape, which is characteristic for windings of electric machines, without exceeding the permissible deformation of the superconducting layer.
EFFECT: invention allows simplifying the design of superconducting windings, increasing their strength and manufacturability, providing high stability and controllability.
