FIELD: electrical engineering; brushless motor characteristics.
SUBSTANCE: brushless motor has stator and rotor; side surface of the latter opposes stator. Stator has plurality of radially arranged iron cores and plurality of windings to built up magnetic field in each iron core. Rotor has plurality of permanent magnets and body inducing magnetic lines of force which is disposed between each permanent magnet and side surface; permanent magnets are made in the form of rectangular parallelepiped and distance d between rotor center and permanent-magnet ( magnetic-pole) surface opposing mentioned side surface of rotor among surfaces of plurality of permanent magnets corresponds to following equation: d ≥ r - D/10, where D = 2πr/P, where r is rotor radius; P is number of permanent magnets. Electric vehicle and electric multiple-unit train incorporating brushless motor of above-described design are also proposed.
EFFECT: enhanced power density due to effective use of reactionary torque.
