APPARATUS FOR PURIFYING GASEOUS MEDIA FROM SUSPENDED PARTICLES Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: chemical industry, metallurgy and other branches of industry.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus has cylindrical casing, connecting pipe tangentially arranged in upper part of casing and adapted for introducing of dust-laden gaseous medium, axial discharge branch pipe with outlet connecting pipe for discharging purified gaseous medium, and detachable hopper for collecting suspended particles. Axial discharge branch pipe is equipped with detachable cover and helical swirler mounted for vertical displacement on cover. Swirler blades are arranged at differentiated pitch reducing in the course of flowing of dust-laden medium in discharge branch pipe and at an angle exceeding angle of rest of caught contaminants to provide for guiding of swirling motion of gaseous flow inside discharge branch pipe in accordance with shape of casing. Discharge connecting pipe is arranged tangentially to discharge branch pipe. Displacement of swirler in vertical plane is provided by threaded connection with detachable cover of discharge branch pipe.

EFFECT: wider range of operating modes and increased efficiency in purifying of gaseous medium.
