FIELD: welding processes and equipment, namely welding bellows and membrane units.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of overlap assembling (with tightness) of parts having large thickness difference; igniting welding arc at side of thin-wall part; burning opening in said part; through formed opening melting surface of thick-wall part and creating on it second welding bath; moving electric arc over lap joint at rate providing lag of near-electrode spot on thin-wall part from axis of electrode by distance equal to length of tail portion of welding bath on thin-wall part.
EFFECT: enhanced quality of welding parts.
