METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONDITIONING AIR ON BOARD AIRCRAFT Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2231482 C1

FIELD: air-conditioning systems for flying vehicles.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in optimization of temperature, flow rate and pressure of air in crew cabin and in passenger cargo salon in the course of ventilation with fresh outside air. Air is compressed by means of compressor of cruise gas-turbine engine and before expansion close to adiabatic air is cooled by fuel of cruise gas-turbine engine or by counter flow of outside air. Optimization of temperature is effected by change in flow rate of air subjected to expansion or flow rate of compressed air cooled by fuel of cruise gas-turbine engine or by counter flow of outside air. To this end, power signal is formed for electric drive of adjustable unit defining respectively flow rate of air not subjected to expansion or flow rate of compressed air not to be cooled depending on sign and magnitude of mismatch of optimal and real magnitudes of air temperature in cabin and salon and temperature of conditioned air supplied to them. Digital computer unit is provided with software for realization of algorithm of forming commands for control of power signal. Air not subjected to expansion or cooling is fed to crew cabin or to passenger and cargo salon. Electric drives of adjustable units are connected to power signal switching devices. Setters of optimal temperature and position of adjustable units and well sensors used for measuring these parameters are connected to signal digital coding units. Signal switching and connecting devices are connected with digital electronic computer unit.

EFFECT: ensuring vital activity of passengers and crew under any flying conditions.
