FIELD: wind power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device converting energy of wind into shaft rotation mechanical energy with subsequent conversion of energy of rotation into electric energy. According to proposed invention, in windmill provided with semirigid blades with pull-back springs secured on endless chain tensioned on drums, said drums are arranged in horizontal plane, and foldable semirigid blades held in working position of flexible braces are installed on trolleys engaging with endless chain for moving along carrying rail. Flexible braces, in their turn, are engaged with intermediate trolleys, also engaged with endless chain for moving along carrying rail. For running, semirigid blades are folded and held in folded position by shaped support. Device is orientated at angle of α=20o-45o to direction of wind, and for stopping windmill, at angle of α=90o to wind.
EFFECT: possibility of developing higher power at near0the-ground wind layer.
