FIELD: wind-power engineering; windmill-electric power plants.
SUBSTANCE: windmill-electric power plant of first design alternate has rotor, with its components being free to rotate about vertical axis, that rests on supporting carriages loosely mounted on enclosed horizontal annular support, and also transmission system including gear transmission that functions to transfer torque from rotor to actuating element; novelty is that gear transmission is first speed of transmission and incorporates driving gear and driven gear; it is step-up transmission with gear ratio over 2; driving gear is made in the form of stiff gear ring mounted on supporting carriages and/or on bottom components of rotor in horizontal plane coaxially with vertical axis of rotor revolution; diameter of middle or pitch circle of gear ring amounts to more than two thirds of inner diameter of annular horizontal support. Plant of second design alternate has its crosspieces made in the form of flat vertical frames covered with net and two or more sail members are secured in tandem on each crosspiece so that one sail member, when in fully unfolded condition, is free to cover part of next sail member at point of fixation by part of its surface opposing fixation end. Plant is distinguished, among other things, by easy erection and maintenance, including on irregular terrain.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency due to reduced loss in gearing and in rotor moving parts.
