FIELD: dampening vibrations; transport mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes setting threshold magnitude of displacement of object relative to static equilibrium position and defining the signs of displacement and rate of object relative to base. First interval of displacement of object when signs of relative displacement and relative rate are opposite and second interval when signs of relative displacement and relative rate are similar are followed-up. Threshold magnitude of displacement of object is noted and magnitude of relative displacement of object is compared with threshold magnitude. Friction damper is placed in operation during displacement of object within limits of first interval and is taken out of operation when magnitude of relative displacement of object is lesser than threshold magnitude and during displacement of object within limits of second interval.
EFFECT: synchronization of moment of removal of damper from operation with moment of obtaining zero rate of object.
