FIELD: nuclear power engineering; manufacture of fuel elements for nuclear reactor fuel assemblies.
SUBSTANCE: device for measuring stack length and quantity of pellets therein has gamma-radiation sources placed in shields with collimation channels for crosswise gamma-raying of moving canned pellet stream during their horizontal vibratory charging and blocks for detecting each charged can on other end with collimation channels coaxial with gamma-radiation source channel. Radiation sources and detection blocks are disposed between horizontal beds of table for arranging cans to be charged with open end coaxial with horizontal bed of table top, pellets being shifted from end of pellet stack toward gas collector inlet in each charged can; they are isolated from mentioned table and provided with recording unit outputting data on each charged can with respect to length of stack charged therein and quantity of pellets in stack. Shields are provided with at least two collimation gamma-raying channels.
EFFECT: enhanced precision of forming pellet stack length.
