FIELD: nuclear power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: device has instrument for metering unconfined space length between open end of charged can with pellet stack boundary therein and pellet extractor integrated with the latter that extracts pellets from stack through open end of charged can. Conical-end extractor in the form of movable rod is coaxially arranged inside metering tube designed to measure length of unconfined space between open end of charged can and boundary of pellet stack. This extractor is engageable with walls of pellet central bore in the course of pellet extraction from stack. Conical end of extractor rod is tapered through 4 - 5 deg.
EFFECT: facilitated extraction of pellets in charged can without reducing capacity of process line or upsetting charging process.
