FIELD: instrumentation engineering, quality inspection of gaseous-discharge devices with cold cathode.
SUBSTANCE: electric discharge is excited in helium-neon laser, current on its cathode is controlled and parameters of its variable component are recorded. Forecast service life of laser is established on basis of processed data of dependences in function on time of inspection. Average current on cathode is controlled with fixed basic frequency of oscillations in electric network of discharge on time of inspection.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of forecast of service life of ring laser.
