FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: gas laser includes cylindrical shell encasing an anode, a hollow cylindrical cathode and a discharge channel. One end of the discharge channel enters the cathode cavity, another end is located at the anode side and has a cone frustum form. Mirrors are installed in calibrator rings at faces of the cylindrical shell. The discharge channel end entering cathode is also a cone frustum. Larger base of the second cone is turned to the cathode terminal. Ratio of height of the second cone frustum h to the length of discharge channel l lies within: 1:10 ≥ h/l ≤ 1:30.
EFFECT: creation of gas laser allowing elimination of strata causing frequency noise in laser emission without deterioration of its power.
