METHOD FOR ISOLATING OF WELL FROM INFLUX EDGE WATER Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: oil and gas industry, in particular, operation and repair of wells and isolation of wells from influx edge water.

SUBSTANCE: method involves determining position of flooding interval; injecting water-isolating composition into flooded bed interval; opening circulation valve in well by means of cable equipment; lowering elongated coupling-free tube to the level of face; filling well shaft by outgoing flooding method; filling flooded shaft interval with water-isolating composition and unflooded interval with blocking composition, while raising said tube to the level of pump-compressor tubes shoe; lowering elongated coupling-free tube to the level of flooded interval; filling well shaft part above pump-compressor tube shoe with plugging liquid circulating through pump-compressor tubes and cavity outside said tubes; injecting and forcing water-isolating composition through bed via elongated coupling-free tube. Method is useful in operation and repair of wells, as well as in isolating from influx edge water of horizontal, sub-horizontal and vertical wells with open or compressed face, and wells with shank-type filter on face.

EFFECT: increased efficiency by providing conditions for unobstructed penetration of water-isolating composition immediately into bed interval to be isolated from influx edge water.
