SEALING DEVICE FOR MOVABLE SLIDE VALVE CONNECTIONS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: sealing connections designed for slide valves and extending through circulation openings in conjugated part, such as immovable stem.

SUBSTANCE: sealing member has conjugated movable casing and immovable stem with circulation openings and is composed of round rubber ring with two protective washers. Sealing member is arranged in channel of movable casing, which is equipped with detachable fixable insert axially positioned therein. Channel for receiving of rubber ring with protective washers is defined by casing and insert beveled surfaces and is made in the form of trapezium. Smaller base of trapezium is facing toward conjugated surface of immovable stem. Smaller base has size making less than 0.8 the total size of diameter of rubber ring and thickness of two protective washers.

EFFECT: enhanced reliability in operation and increased service life of sealing device during operation in abrasive high-viscosity liquid media under high pressure, and simplified assembly and disassembly processes.
