FIELD: applicable for ignition of fuel in a flow, mainly in the combustion chamber of an air-breathing jet engine.
SUBSTANCE: the igniter has a body with a fuel-injection nozzle and a catalytic reactor including a body, one or several inlets, catalyst, exhaust nozzle and a conical stabilizer, all located in the axis of the igniter. An annular slot for supply of fuel-air mixture to the edge of the conical stabilizer is made between the body of the catalytic reactor and the body of the igniter. The catalyst is made in the form of a longitudinally corrugated mesh of platinum-bearing material isolated from the reactor body by a ceramic bush. The exhaust nozzle of the catalytic reactor is made in the form of a partition uniformly perforated by holes with a pitch between the holes not exceeding half the pitch of the longitudinal corrugation on the catalyst.
EFFECT: enhanced igniting ability of the flame.
