FIELD: machine evaluation of quality of transmission of audio signals.
SUBSTANCE: signal of source (speech fetch) according to invention is processed or correspondingly transmitted with the help of speech coding device and is converted to signal of reception (coded speech signal). Signals of source and reception are separately subjected to preliminary processing and psychoacoustic modeling. Then degree of difference is calculated and used to evaluate similarity of signals. Finally average evaluation mark is computed in order to obtain result comparable with subjective evaluation by man. Technical result is achieved as value of spectral similarity is established for evaluation of quality. Covariance of spectra of signal of source and of received signal is divided into product of standard deviation of both spectra.
EFFECT: obtainment of objective evaluation (prediction) of speech quality with due account of man's hearing process.
