FIELD: plastic metal working, namely combination in one operation steps of shaping housing of joint and reducing insert along surface of spherical body due to controlling yielding of tubular blank material.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of fitting flange of sheet material on piece of upset tube; Upsetting tube piece in axial direction until formation of annular thickened portions at both sides of flange; reducing insert along surface of spherical body and placing it inside piece of tube. Reducing of insert along surface of spherical body is performed simultaneously with upsetting piece of tube. During upsetting procedure diameter of annular thickened portions is limited in radial direction to outside. Such limitation of diameter of annular thickened portions may be realized by means of two annular dies arranged at both sides of flange.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency.
