FIELD: automotive industry; construction of ball joints for car suspensions. SUBSTANCE: spherical joint has body with circular step on side surface. Mounted in body are pin with ball head and inserts: first insert is provided with flange engageable with circular step and second insert is engageable with first insert over its inner surface. Body is also provided with locking member secured in body for probable contact with outer surface of second insert and with flange of first insert. Second insert and/or locking member are provided with recess for forming cavity by inserts and locking member. Inserts are deformed plastically in area of contact with locking member. Recess in second insert may be of different shape. Method of manufacture of spherical joint consists in successively mounting the insert, pin with spherical head, second insert and locking member in body forming at least one cavity by means of inserts and locking member. Then locking member is heated to melting point of surface layers of inserts engageable with it and axial load is applied, after which locking member is secured in body.
