FIELD: railway transport; parking brakes.
SUBSTANCE: proposed automatic pneumatic parking brake with adjustable value of brake pressure contains rubber-and-metal air chamber in brake cylinder to be used at automatic and manual braking and fixing brakes in applied position, change-over valve for automatically changing over direction of air from main line of brake cylinder to brake cylinder or from main line of brake cylinder to rubber-and-metal air chamber at preset air pressure in main line of brake cylinder, and shut-off valve with pressure regulator for automatically fixing brakes and applied position at preset brake pressure and release of brakes, and brake valve for manual application of brakes at preset pressure and subsequent automatic locking. Proposed parking brake can be installed on railway cars of all types and any locomotives to keep them in brake-applied position as long as needed even after complete loss of air in brake system at stations and sections between stations on slopes owing to possibility of provision of maximum possible braking pressure of brakes at emergency braking.
EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities, improved reliability of braking.
