PHLEBOTOME Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: surgical instruments for treatment of lower limb varicosis.

SUBSTANCE: phlebotome has handle and puncturing-cutting member fitted with rib and connected to handle. Rib is oriented toward handle and arranged at an angle to longitudinal axis of puncturing-cutting member. Phlebotome is further equipped with movable puncture depth restricting member adapted for regulating of puncture depth and mounted on handle. Puncture depth restricting member is made in the form of nut or immovable stop formed as projection. Branches have different length. One of branches has small-sized screw or stem for dosing thickness of tissue to be intersected and for preventing skin from excessive injury. Two rings are arranged at end of longer branch.

EFFECT: reduced injury, increased precision in dissecting of subcutaneous veins and convenient use of instrument.
