SUBSTANCE: invention relates to new pyrimidinone compounds of the formula (I)

and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts eliciting the strong antagonistic effect with regards to receptors to angiotensin II that makes their useful in treatment of cardiovascular diseases caused by binding angiotensin II with its receptors. Invention relates also to a method for preparing compound of the formula (I) by reaction of compound of the formula (II)

with P4S10 or Loesson's reagent in solvent taken among benzene, dichloromethane or tetrahydrofuran, and to a pharmaceutical composition based on compound of the formula (I). In compound of the formula (I) R1 represents (C1-C4)-alkyl with direct chain; R2 represents (C1-C4)-alkyl; R3 and R4 are similar or different and represent hydrogen atom, (C1-C4)-alkyl with direct or branched chain; or R3 and R4 in common with nitrogen atom form 4-8-membered heterocyclic ring that can involve additionally -O-, -S-, -SO-, -SO2; X represents sulfur atom; Z represents radical tetrazol-5-yl of the following formula:

wherein R6 represents hydrogen atom; m = 1 or 2; n = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6.
