FIELD: transport engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for starting diesel engines of diesel locomotives and ships furnished with electric starting system. Proposed device contains starter-generator, storage battery and resistor. Starter-generator has armature winding, communicating pole winding, starting and independent windings. Normally-open contacts of starting-contactors are connected to poles of storage battery, and contact of starting contactor, second in sequence of switching on, is connected to starting winding output lead. Device is provided also with voltage control unit and field current control unit of independent winding which includes armature current differential transformer-transducer, and circuit of series-connected summer, current regulator, width-pulse converter connected to independent winding, and feedback unit. Input of feedback unit is connected to output of width-pulse converter, and output is connected to second input of summer. First input of summer is designed for supplying tuning signal. Output of armature current differential transformer-transducer is connected to third input of summer. Primary winding of armature current differential transformer-transducer is connected between normally-open contact of starting contactor, first in sequence of switching on, and input lead of starter-generator armature winding to which second inputs of current regulator and width-pulse converter are connected, second outputs of current regulator and width-pulse converter being connected to minus pole of storage battery. Voltage control unit includes voltage regulator contactor with winding and normally-closed and normally-open contacts, armature current transducer relay with normally-closed contact and winding which is connected by input leads with starting winding of starter-generator and through diode in forward direction by outputs, and it contains also normally-open contact of auxiliary generator voltage transducer. Winding of voltage regulator contact is connected to plus pole of storage battery through parallel-connected closed contact and resistor and is connected to minus pole of storage battery through parallel-connected normally-closed contact of armature current transducer relay and normally-open contact of auxiliary generator voltage transducer. Normally-open contact of voltage regulator contact is placed between section halves of said battery to provide their series and parallel connection, and diodes are connected in forwards direction between like poles of battery section halves.

EFFECT: improved reliability of diesel engine starting, increased service life of storage battery.
