FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device designed for detecting buried metal objects by induction methods and measuring parameters of their occurrence, for instance for detecting subsurface metal service lines including pipelines and cables, manholes covered with earth, asphalt, or snow, and other metal objects uses two types of transmitting and receiving antennas operating at frequencies separated by more than order of magnitude. Signal phases at these frequencies are interrelated. Signal amplifying and processing unit of device has signal amplitude processing channel, signal phase processing channel, channel for converting output analog voltage to audio-signal amplitude and tone, and unit for sound check of supply voltage value. Signal processing channel incorporates three subtracting amplifiers and unit for retrieval-storage of output voltages recorded upon pushing and releasing control button. These voltages point to definite gains in signal amplitude and phase processing channels and are used as reference voltages in further operation of device. In this way amplitude of signal received, amplitude increment of the latter, and its phase relative to previous values can be measured.
EFFECT: facilitated procedure, enlarged functional capabilities and ambient temperature range, improved signal protection against conducting soil and its local heterogeneities.
