FIELD: measurement engineering, in particular, range measurement.
SUBSTANCE: two modifications of the method for range measurement are offered. They consist in the fact that for measurement of range from a radiator to the material surface a radio-frequency signal is radiated in the direction of the surface under control with a periodic frequency modulation, after the time of propagation the reflected signal is received, mixed with part of the radiated signal, and a difference frequency signal is obtained, two sampled signals are formed at the instants of coincidence of the radiated signal frequency with two standard frequencies preset beforehand, the dependence on the time of the moments of appearance of the characteristic points of the difference frequency signal (for example, extremes or zeroes) inside the period of modulation) and the time positions of two sampled signals obtained at the instants of coincidence of the radiated and standard frequencies are measured. Using the results of the additional measurements, additionally calculated in the first modification is the range of re-turning of the frequency of the radiated signal corresponding to several following one after another, and the range is calculated, In the second modification the sun of the integral number of half-periods of the difference frequency signal and the additional correction, being the remaining part of the period, is found by the results of the additional measurements, and the range is calculated by this value.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy and stability of measurements in the temperature range.
