FIELD: production of asbestos fibers.

SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a loading unit of the press-packing installation for fibrous materials and is dealt with devices for the dosed loading of fibrous materials, in particular -asbestos fibers in the press - packing installations. The loading unit includes a storage hopper, a loading device, a weight chamber with a unit to control the drive of the gear of the fibrous material transportation gear. The body of the loading unit contains a gear of transportation with a drive and a gear of compaction of a fibrous material. The gears are installed with a capability of counter-rotation and are interacting, their axes are in parallel. The gear of transportation of a fibrous material is made in the form of a hollow shaft. On the shaft lateral surface along the generatrix there are ribs radially and rigidly fixed. The gear of compaction of the fibrous material is made as a drum. Along the generatrix of the drum there are radial ledges. The ledges are by turns placed between the ribs of the shaft. The drive of the gear of the fibrous material transportation is made reversible. The ledges on the drum in cross section have the forms of semi-cylinders. The technical result is preservation of the natural properties and lengths of asbestos fibers, provision of a correspondence of the weight of a portion of the asbestos fibers to the given value, decrease of power consumption of the installation.

EFFECT: the invention allows to preserve the natural properties and lengths of asbestos fibers, to provide correspondence of the weight of a portion of the asbestos fibers to the given value, decrease of power input.
