FIELD: metalloorganic chemistry, chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to macrocyclic metal-chelating ligands used as catalysts of oxidative whitening. Invention describes a method for whitening chromophores in sewages in manufacture of cellulose and paper that involves using a composition comprising of: (a) a carrier of oxidizing agent in effective amount for whitening a substrate; (b) oxidation-resistant an activating agent of oxidant showing the formula (I):
wherein each among Y1, Y3 and Y4 represents a bridge-group comprising 0, 1, 2 or 3 carbon-containing links for replacing; Y2 means a bridge-group comprising at least one carbon-containing link for replacing. Each indicated link comprises group C(R), C(R1), (R2) or C(R)2 and each substituent R is similar or differs from other substituents R; M means metal of transient order with oxidation degree I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII or VIII and taken among groups 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 of periodic system of elements; Q means any counter-ion that equilibrates the compound charge on stoichiometric base. Method provides enhancing effectiveness of whitening indicated substrates.
EFFECT: valuable properties of composition.
