FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy; production of pure non-ferrous metals, such as Ca, Mg, etc.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method is performed at two successive and interconnected stages: electrolytic reduction of target metal from melt of salts, thus obtaining molten cathode alloy and subsequent separation of alloy components by distillation or rectification. Proposed method includes production of molten copper-calcium alloy by electrolysis from eutectic mixture of calcium and potassium chlorides at cathode density of current of 0.7-0.8 A/sq cm, pouring of part of cathode alloy concentrated to concentration of calcium of 56-58.5 wt-% to distiller, vacuum sublimation of calcium, return of calcium-depleted distillation residue and loading it to electrolyzer for obtaining initial concentration of calcium of 38-42 wt-%.
EFFECT: increased productivity of electrolyzer; reduced specific consumption of starting materials.
