FIELD: metallurgy, namely electrolyzer for producing alkali-earth metals from melt salts.
SUBSTANCE: electrolyzer includes bath-cathode, shelter with gas removing ducts and anodes in the form of connected in pairs graphite blocks. The last have square cross section with side "a" and they are secured to carrying cross piece by means of anode holder in such a way that gap between graphite blocks b = (0.1 - 0.3) a. Shaft of drive unit of mechanism for vertical motion of anode holder is spaced by distance "c" exceeding (1.5 a) from lengthwise axis of electrolyzer. Suspension of anode is realized with use of two electric current leading parts.
EFFECT: increased electric current yield.
