FIELD: optical recording equipment engineering.

SUBSTANCE: device is a multilayer optical drive, on which information is recorded in sectors of marked information in one of recording layers in form of image of crystalline and amorphous marks. Recording method includes recording of information on one of multiple recording layers in sector of marked information by means of heating by laser beam of amorphous recording layer up to temperature higher than crystallization temperature and cooling down of recording layer down to crystallization temperature and lower for forming of image from crystalline and amorphous marks. Reading method for reading information recorded on one of recording layers of multilayer optical disk drive includes irradiation of image of crystalline and amorphous marks which contains information, detection of reflected signal, filtering of said signal by means of high frequency filter and reproduction of information.

EFFECT: recording of information in sector of marked information without damaging the disk, possible recording of information concurrently with disk initialization, possible reproduction of information during focusing in arbitrary disk layer.
