FIELD: oxidation catalysts. SUBSTANCE: to apply catalytic layer onto surface of metallic tube, insoluble and low-soluble compounds are mixed with powdered aluminum and then charged with metal tube or rod into molding arrangement to be subjected to steam treatment, after which molded product is removed, dried, and calcined. Resulting catalytic layer constitute high-porosity self-fastened coating 10 mm thick.
