FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy, ferrous metallurgy and chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to designing and operation of ore-smelting electric furnaces with electrodes dipped into slag melt and it can be used in ferrous metallurgy and chemical industry. Proposed electroslag remelting furnace has body, charging devices, electrodes assembled into groups, one of which is installed in furnace hearth and is connected to negative pole of current source, and other group is dipped into slag melt and is connected to positive pole of current source, electrodes in each group are arranged I succession.
EFFECT: increased capacity of furnace owing to creation of conditions providing more thorough depletion of slag in valuable components.
