FIELD: investigating or analyzing materials.
SUBSTANCE: method includes affecting the specimen to be tested by corrosion fluid during a given time and determining the change of the specimen mass and, hence, the rate of corrosion. The specimen is affected by hydrogen sulfide water solution of metal salts up to the formation of the sediments of ferrous sulfide on its surface. A solution of hydrochloric acid is added then to the corrosion fluid, and specimen is treated in such a fluid during 24-48 hours.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of testing.
