FIELD: electromechanical engineering; motor car and engine construction.
SUBSTANCE: proposed engine designed to convert reciprocation of pistons into rotary motion of shaft with aid of electromagnetic drive dispensing with external current supply has piston, cylinder, crankshaft, gear-box, transmission, and electromagnetic system. Piston is built of two parts, top one being made in the form of current-conducting plate and bottom part, in the form of permanent magnet; piston is mounted in nonmagnetic cylinder. Inductor is installed at top dead center of piston; solenoid is mounted at bottom dead center of piston and connected to capacitor bank and to storage battery through step-up transformer and switch. Crankshaft is provided with flywheels mounted on both ends of piston and coupled on one end with dc generator and on other, with gear-box through powder electromagnetic clutch. Engine of such design makes it possible to dispense with gasoline internal-combustion engines.
EFFECT: enhanced environmental friendliness, reduced gasoline consumption.
