FIELD: power engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed at increasing efficiency of operation of control shaft designed for performing processes in cylinder of internal combustion piston engine by coupling with its piston. Proposed method provides conversion of rotation of control shaft into reciprocation of piston. As a result, intake, compression, combustion and exhaust of combustion products in engine cylinder take place. At beginning of process of compression, teeth of sector of smaller gear wheel rigidly secured on crankshaft come into meshing with teeth to larger gear secured on output shaft. Thanks to it, crankshaft can rotate more quickly in process of compression relative to rim of larger gear wheel which is rotated by smaller gear secured on output shaft. Larger gear wheel rotates in bearing on crankshaft. EFFECT: improved performance characteristics of internal combustion piston engine. 18 dwg
